So two tossups over three seasons?

Y'all have only one upset over that timeframe too: the 2009 Egg Bowl.

So, basically, y'all have beaten the teams you should have beaten. Hey, at least that's more than teh Old Piss BARES can say RIGHT?!

there's a reason Gulf Shores is re-naming it Mullen Toss 2013.

So he's won 2 toss-ups in 3 years and once again State fans expecting things to happen based on what happened that one season.

Coming off a year where you finished 6-6, and lose your starting QB, RB, some of the better parts of a bad OL, and change your offense from one with a mobile QB to one for a immobile pocket passer and expecting to have 2 to 4 more wins than the season before? Yes I think that's kind of delusional

That's a very coon esque post, I'm afraid.

I'm not getting deep into this retard humping door knobs fight, but there were no 'toss-ups' in 2009 because we were supposed to fricking suck. The only years this term applied were probably last year and 2010.

you've had one good season your fanbase thinks they're going to win 9+ games every season.

No. We just think we can go bowling every season.

We think we can win 8+ this season because of the schedule. Nothing more, nothing less. We're not calling ourselves a top 15 team. It's perfectly likely that we can go 8-4 and not beat a ranked team this year.

Coming into a season where a 10-win east champion and 11-win east #2 rotate off our schedule, to be replaced with a last place east team and a team with a losing record in the Big12? Yes, that's exactly what we think.

ETA I got it now...

State has lost 1 game as a favorite in Mullen's tenure...2011 Auburn. He's won 3 as an underdog. He's been one of the most consistent coaches in all of CFB in winning the games he's supposed to win up until this point in his career.

You could beat Tennessee and A&M, it wouldn't be unheard of. I do think both of those teams will be better than most people are giving them credit for

Uhh, most people are giving A&M credit for simply having Texas in its name. They'll likely be awful in '12.

I agree that UT could easily be much better than State fans in general are giving them credit for. Could easily lose that game.

I think A&M is going to be worse than people are expecting. They may start hot, but they have nowhere near SEC talent or depth on the defensive side, and they will be beat up by the time we see them.

I think Auburn ends up better than people are expecting. We are lucky to get them in week 2 this year(with then new schemes going in), while we have full continuity. In week 8, I would not like our chances against them AT ALL. Van Gorder is going to have a nasty defense there...hopefully not yet.

Arkansas will beat us until something changes. No one is "expecting" us to beat them. There is some hope out there because of the home game in 2010. Also hope the John L thing falls apart. They gashed us last year when we couldn't get an edge pass rush(as did Auburn). We're hoping that's much improved this year.

Current schedule remaining in place(flipping locations), we will be lucky to go 7-5 in 2013.

That's what I'm saying. They open @ la tech ( shreveport I know) then play UF and Arky early. They also have to go to SMU. So that's 2 good SEC teams early, albeit at home, and two good teams on the road who will be fully torqued for upsets.

I'm telling you, a&m could be 3-2, if not worse, when they come to Oxford wk 6 (their 1st SEC road game). That will be a massive game for us as we should be 3-2 going in.

I could see you beating them this season. Coonass has even said this as well...

I could see this being the real breakout game for some of your talented freshmen/sophs. Moncrief will have a monster game against them...

You never know how the season will play out but if we can remain healthy leading up to that game I really think we could put up some points. Their defense blew donkey balls last year. But so did ours so who the hell knows.
