Time to get this season started. Gonna be a hot one but it always is for first game.
Friday
Sunny and hot, with a high near 100.
Friday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 77.
Game is on SEC+. OU is 41.5 pt faves. Lets go injury free and see some backups
Also, Gruden spent 2 days at OU and here is just one snippet

Latest OU Sooners injury report (as of Sept 1):
Jake Maikkula (C): Sprained MCL mid-Aug. Out 4-6 weeks total. Misses UTEP; possible for Michigan (Sept 12) or later.
Ryan Fodje (C): Knee injury Monday practice. Not long-term; MRI pending. Out vs UTEP. Nitta or Best expected to start.
Parker Livingstone (WR): Concussion protocol last week. Status vs UTEP unknown.
Tory Blaylock (RB): Hamstring; questionable for opener. Avant/Robinson primary.
Others (Hatton Jr., Bass) minor/camp issues, status unclear but less impactful. No major defensive notes.

I mean... Jesus fricking Christ. Sure they'll be back at some point but WTF.
Do we (and all teams, based on what we saw last year?) need to consider adopting Cignetti's approach of severely limiting full contact & live tackling in practice ?Every freaking year we get guys injured in fall camp.

The Monday one is what gets me. Already went hard in camp now just need to glide into OOC game fully healthy. But we can’t have nice things

@grok what’s the probability given Brent Venables shaky tenure with injuries that all players are back by Michigan and Texas games
Grok
@grok
Reports describe the key current issues (Maikkula MCL sprain, Fodje mild knee sprain, Livingstone concussion protocol) as short-term rather than serious.
Maikkula timeline points to possible Michigan availability (~4 weeks post-injury) and high likelihood by Texas. Fodje and Livingstone look even better positioned for both.
Factoring Venables' prior injury patterns, I'd put the odds all relevant players are fully back for Michigan around 35-45% and for Texas around 85-90%.

Oklahoma received some very good news on Tuesday — about two injured players. After offensive lineman Ryan Fodje went down Monday at practice with a knee injury, Fodje was back at practice on Tuesday and was actually suited up, according to a source close to the program, although another source said he was held out of some full contact reps. Fodje's injury was first reported by SoonerScoop's George Stoia and later confirmed by a Sooners On SI source. The MRI that Fodje had Tuesday morning was negative, one source told Sooners On SI. While Fodje is still expected to miss the No. 10-ranked Sooners’ season opener against UTEP on Friday night as a precaution, the source indicated that OU’s goal is to have him ready to play on Sept. 12 against No. 16-ranked Michigan in Ann Arbor. Exactly what position the sophomore from Cypress, TX, will be playing when OU visits the Wolverines is the other half of OU's good news. Fodje’s move from right guard to center had been necessitated by an injury to starting center and co-captain Jake Maikkula. The source told Sooners On SI Tuesday night that Maikkula was a “full go at practice” on Tuesday. Although he wasn’t limited at practice, Maikkula — a senior from Colorado who transferred to OU from Stanford prior to the 2024 season and wound up starting 10 games at center after Troy Everett’s season-ending knee injury in the opener — also will likely be held out or at least limited when Oklahoma opens the season against the Miners, with an eye on having him fully healthy for the Michigan game.

Appalachian State defeated Michigan in The Big House on September 1, 2007.
Take nothing for granted.

We have so many games to stress over this year but this isn’t one of them. I agree with your sentiments but put this in the bank and prepare for Michigan

My TV doesn't have the ESPN app, but I do have the Hulu & Disney apps..
Is the "Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle" plan the only way I can watch SECN+ without doing FUBO or Sling?

No idea. I know I don’t have it so will be Ubering to a bar
I do think if you have Disney you have it. I canx ESPN+ a few months ago realizing I never used it. It took me 2 hours to canx those bastards make it nearly impossible. There was a link to click to canx but it was dead. Another one to get to settings and I went step by step and it took me to Disney. Once there no where to canx.
Most frustrating thing I ever did. Its intentional. I finally got a person on the Disney site (where it pops up and asks if we can help you). All websites have it and I always ignore. First thing I asked was where they were typing from and amazingly it was Minnesota not India.
It took them over an hour. I finally told them I was writing my congressman because this was horseshite how hard they make canx intentionally and poof, all the sudden they said “I can help you”. Within 5 minutes of that it was canx.
These fricking sites will make it nearly impossible to canx.
Anyways, frick them and I’ll never get ESPN+ again.
