Where are you staying at? Did you happen to get a room at the Noun?
No, I booked a cheap hotel room because of the uncertainty with the pregnancy. We haven't had the best of luck previously, and I'll leave it at that. If the trip wasn't gonna happen, I didn't want to spend a lot or be worrying about refunds. We're still only a couple of miles from campus corner.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm down for meeting up if anybody is going to the game.
Where should we go to catch the Texas-aTm game Friday night? Any good local sports bars with some pool tables?

I imagine they jack the prices up for gameday weekends so you’re better off. We just have to hope the weather holds out !

I’m not going to the game, but some BTR friends of mine are and asked for recommendations in Norman, but away from campus. A friend in Norman offered the following. I have no personal experience with any of these places.
Scratch, Benvenuti's, The Winston, Ranch Steakhouse.

Yo Pablo on Campus Corner is a great sports bar but it could be packed full of college-age kids
Actually, the Happy Monk on Lindsey st. has like 6 pool tables and pretty good bar food. That's what I'd recommend

Checking back in after the game... I wanna start off by saying I'm genuinely looking forward to going back the next time LSU plays at Oklahoma!
You guys had great suggestions, and Oklahoma fans are great to hang out with. We watched the Texas-aTm game at Happy Monk Friday night, and had a lot of fun with the staff and other people there. I was twerking upside down in a handstand against the wall at one point. Don't ask for more details. We stayed up there playing pool most of the night.
We caught an uber to the stadium Saturday around noon. We took a redneck tailgate with us, passed out jello shots to random fans of both teams, and found a good spot in the sun to hang out before the game. We caught the band coming down the street on their way into the stadium. I gave what was left to a group next to us when we were ready to head in.
The line to get into the stadium moved pretty quick, and we got to our seats in time for all the pregame stuff. We sat in the upper side of section 14. I introduced us to the folks around us as "this is my wife, she's an OU fan. This is my best friend, he's a Texas fan. And I'm about to be the most annoying part of your life for the next 4 hours"
We had a good time during the game talking ball, talking shite, and making fun of each other. One of the guys a couple rows in front of us passed up a bottle of crown he'd snuck in. He told me to keep it as he pulled out a second bottle from his coat.
After the game, we ran into a guy that asked me if anything had happened with Lane Kiffin yet. We were walking in the same general direction, heading to the uber we'd called. He took us to a tailgate and we ended up canceling the uber and staying all the until we were helping them break down the tailgate and load up. Players parents were there, and my wife and I were chatting with Derek Simmons' mom, dad, and sister for quite a while. It was pretty cool hearing the family/player side of the portal and NIL, dealing with transfers and new coaches, and his mom despises Tennessee fans more than Texas fans
I genuinely hope the best for the kid as he moves on in his career.
All in all, 10/10 can't wait to go back in a few years. Hopefully it won't be 40 degrees next time!

Wow thanks for writing up an after game summary. Really glad you had a good time most Okies are pretty friendly. The way the game went I can imagine the mood swings from fans lol.
Safe travels home and its great for all fanbases to be in the best conf with the best venues compared to what we had. Its gonna force us to invest more as well.

Sounds like a hell of a weekend! Glad y'all had fun. All the LSU fans I hung out with were so cool. It really sucks the weather was what it was, but I can say I've never had someone else hook me up with a bottle in the stadium

We were already home by the time I posted. It was only like a 2-hour trip.
The mood swings for the OU fans were mostly centered around my wife still dealing with postpartum hormones. It was like the entire section synced up to her cycle instantly

Lol, well glad you got home safe. Social media was all over the map. Fire Arbuckle to great job. It was such a tough game with so many 3 and outs and poor play from our QB and players. Still learning. Hope they learn a lot in next 3 weeks.

As I told everyone after the game, good luck in the playoffs! Pulling for yall over everyone else

Thanks! You too. Lane will get them back up pretty fast. The key is when he lays an egg or has a down season like Venables did last year - will the fanbase support him. I’m glad to have Brent and with all he went through in life its great to see. Had we lost the LSU game meaning missing playoffs it would have gotten ugly. He has put his heart and soul in this program and its his dream job so he can’t be poached. He’s got the foundation built on defense so just need to do same in O. With Nagy as GM, I think he will.

Does the OU band still play the visitors’ fight song during pregame? I was curious which song they used for LSU.
Posted on 12/1/25 at 3:59 pm to soonerinlOUisiana
LSU brought a smaller version of their band but they never left the stands. And the in-game producer fricked up and played audio over two-thirds of the one song they played. The only song I heard them play, anyway. Pretty lame.

Yeah, I could barely hear them just one section over. It didn't even seem like the regular size of the travel band and they did blast the piped in music just about any time they played except for after the touchdown.

I guess the PA guy noticed because he suddenly shut off the music or whatever was playing.
Speaking of: I remember when there was no high-dollar sound systems, lights and mega-video screens. The modern experience is what it is, but I am not a fan of blasting audio until a moment before the snap.
