I think Mateer has been a guy that thinks he can get the ball where it needs to be regardless of the arm angle. He's seen himself as a gunslinger and play maker. Now he realizes he can't and that if he wants a shot at a pro career he needs to grow out of it.
I honestly think it's going to be tough for him, but I'm hopeful he can do it.

Mateer looked like a Heisman QB until injury so I’m thinking we get a good version of him this year with staff and player additions

Wow here’s a view of Action Jackson Arnold at UNLV. Wish him luck this is likely the perfect fit. Had so much potential and high hopes. I recall watching some of his highlights from Denton during his senior year and he was really great. But college is a step up and he buckled under pressure. He wasn’t in the best situation here due to OC and that hurt his confidence. Hope he makes it.
