UGA business manager Charlie Martin, inspired by the Rose Bowl hedges in 1926, brought the idea to Athens. However, roses wouldn't thrive in Athens' climate, so a donor provided fast-growing Chinese privet hedges instead.

The only SEC school that Vanderbilt has an all-time winning record against in football is Texas…7-2-1 vs the Longhorns…all 10 games played between 1903-1928. They are 271 games under .500 vs the rest of the SEC. (0-2-1 vs OU)

Former OU Head Coach, Howard Schnellenberger, played for Bear Bryant at Kentucky. He was a 1st-Team All-American Tight End in 1955 and is in the Kentucky Hall-of-Fame. He later served as Bryant’s Offensive Coordinator at Alabama.
