Damn. Gentry & RMT aren't going to play.
But I'd rather the guy coming off a nasty ankle injury start for Mizzou than a relatively unknown, because we've had some issues with that type over the past couple decades

Parker Thune
@ParkerThune
A bit of news relevant to the backfield: Andy Bass is warming up and looks like he’s gonna be available today for the #Sooners. I believe this would be the first time this season that he’s active.

I would like to see him play someday.
Ugly offense today but did enough to help us win. SMDH
Hope we play better against LSU next week.

Gotta take wins when you can in this conf. We cannot waste this D! Gotta find some O and please Brent, stuff Arbuckle in a garbage can

I'm hoping for some changes on the offensive staff.

I just don’t know answer. I think I do but BV has not had a consistent OC since he took over. So maybe Arbuckle gets another year to stabilize O and keep recruits. We have a good QB coming in and our Oline is young and improving.

Sooners games when they held a ranked opponent to 6 points or less since 2000

Mizzou came into today’s game averaging just short of 50% on 3rd down conversions (#13 in the nation).
Today, the Tigers converted 3-15 third downs (20%) and was unsuccessful on one 4th Down attempt.

This year's Don Key Award goes to Owen Heinecke and Febechi Nwaiwu. This is considered the highest honor for an OU football player.
Two very deserving players.

I remember listening to KREF after the Michigan game and Toby Rowland was talking about how we'd need to find a new OC next year, because.... Arbuckle would get a HC job somewhere.
Both Toby and Arbuckle are clowns of the highest order.

I like Toby he is Crimson and Cream all the way. And it wasn’t just him singing Arbuckle praises early on lots of pundits did.
Although I don’t think he’s the best OC, we can’t afford to keep changing OC’s. Need some consistency for stability. I’d give him another year. He didn’t rub much because that room is dinged up.
Here’s a decent take on the team.

After sleeping on it, here are my takeaways from #Oklahoma’s win over Mizzou:
- Even with players injured, the defensive depth is insane. There’s virtually 0 falloff between the 1st and 2nd unit.
- OU may have the best special teams and defense in the country. B2B blocked kicks is unheard of.
- I’m so damn happy for JV Gibson… that dude has shown an immense amount of heart to be able to get his first TD of the season.
- Sategna finally got to show off his breakaway speed. That dude is FAST.
- I believe Arbuckle called a solid game. I also believe he made calls to protect X Rob. Knowing this now, it’s admirable. The RB room is concerning… but that’s for another post.
- MANY MEN!!!! Incredible song choice for the 4th QTR.
- Mateer is feast or famine. We rise as he rises. I believe he plays with heart… but his decision making has to improve for this team.
- Miguel Chavis and Todd Bates simply cannot receive enough love for their work during the rebuild. They’ve built the best D-Line in the country.
- Wein, Stone, Heinecke, & Boganowski have made insane improvements this year. They will be a FORCE next year.
- Brent Venables is HC material. He has built a hard-to-kill culture with a healthy blend of the right type of recruiting. BV & staff once again deserve their flowers.

What a compliment to X and Carl Albert HS
HC and AD at Carl Albert posted a reply to this:
Mike Dunn, M.Ed, CAA
@Coach_Mike_D
Man, that one hit different. Never heard a better compliment about OUR program. I say that as an alum, a coach, a fan, etc..
I’m also thankful for our 5 guys on their roster for representing our culture! We’ve always been fortunate to have great humans in our program!

Oklahoma did the same thing but with better results than what Alabama and Auburn did against Missouri.
The Sooner defense held the nation's leading rusher, Ahmad Hardy, to 57 total yards on 17 rushing attempts.
From AtoZ Sports:
The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers are really the only team who's shut down Hardy. Bama allowed him to rush for 52 yards on 12 attempts, while Auburn gave up 58 rushing yards on 24 attempts. Bama gave up 23 points and Auburn gave up 23, while OU gave up six points. That's the biggest difference between the other two games Hardy played.
