For as bad as OU was on offense today, its 393 total yards
Strange isn't it?
Everyone dunkin on the Sooner offense that put up that many yards which did not translate into a lot of points but kept the tiges on their end of the field most of the day.
The 2025 Sooners are like Harley Quinn, they are known to be quite vexing.

Thing is Arbuckle had some good schemes off and on. I think he is not as bad as it seemed and not as good as we want.
I also think Mateer is holding back our offense. If we inserted most qbs in his place its possible the offense would take off. Many plays were simply misses yet there for taking with better QB play
I also gotta think Hawkins is gone. His dad posted some crap after game and it wasn’t pretty. He deleted after 99% of OU fans replied saying regardless if Hawkins should have played or not it wasn’t good for a parent to post about it during the and after the game. It got ugly and still seen some posts by his Mom replying to posters. All this on X. My guess is the staff will quietly talk to dad and explain as an OU alumni its not good to do. And it might be best to part ways after season. Hawkins the player has been humble and loyal this is all about parents now. I think he needs to transfer as pressure would only ramp up next year if he stays. Feel bad for the player he has been 100% a team player.

QB injuries during BV's time back here has been a major factor. (I know, Captain Obvious talking)
Dillon's concussion and the drop off to the backup QB, remember the RRSO shut-out.
Then Mateer's broken throwing thumb just before the RRSO.
Apparently still a major drop-off to the 2nd string QB. Therefore JM rushed back to play too early.
Maybe young Hawk needs the extra years of development before starting.
If he has just one marquee year as a 5th year senior - could pay great dividends at draft time.
But I understand his folks want their youngster to get snaps.
Tough deal all the way around.
Of all HC's, BV has the standing/gravitas to mediate and resolve it.
