OU Mens Basketball 2026-27 Season (news/players/etc…)

And we’re off to a new season cycle. First up is a new basketball GM Lucas McKay coming from Clemson. Also, our new AD didn’t fire Moser. And rumor is more money being put into program.

Add another outgoing. We’re going to revamp most of this roster. Our AD came from Illinois and knows basketball and has connections.

This one sucks. But my guess is we have a plan. New AD has a lot riding on it working. And new GM too. If they do their part then its up to Moser to make it work.

Some great info on our program changes. I said when AD was hired he had basketball connections.

I guess they've decided a massive roster rebuild was the way to go. Probably needed at this point, but you certainly can't do it every year. You can't build continuity that way. It's harder for the fans to connect with the team, because they don't see players develop over multiple years. That hurts attendance.

We have to get better and that will bring fans in the door. Our new AD came from a basketball school and we hired a GM for BB as well. Hearing some good players thrown out there are interested.

For the first time in the Porter Moser era, OU will return two double-digit scorers and two returning starters.
It’s absolutely huge to bring back Derrion Reid and Xzayvier Brown. That’s a really strong nucleus for this Sooners team
