Still can’t believe we got him from Philly
Jared McCain vs San Antonio Spurs:
20PTS I 3REB I 2AST I 1STL
7-9FG I 6-8 3PT +20
He did most of his damage from 3 but it's the variation of triples he took:
· Transition 3
· Mid-range stop jumper
· Screen Curl off Mara 3
· Transition 3
· Catch & Shoot 3
· Catch and Shoot 3
· Screen Curl off IHart

SGA uses rules to the letter. And some continue to go with narratives.

Lol this is awesome. We set an NBA record for having the most players with same last name given a tech on the same play sequence. I was glad to see all of them support Chet who got body slammed hard by a dirty team the NBA is treating as their darling.

People forget, we almost made finals without JDub and Mitchell. It makes such a huge difference
I’m amazed at the “casuals” who don’t realize how big of an impact having a healthy J-Dub and Ajay is for them against the Spurs.
They both looked a tad rusty but just them being on the floor completely changes the defensive strategy against the Spurs.
Just on these two possessions alone, having J-Dub or Ajay playing one pass away forces the defense to make a choice.
If they actually commit to doubling SGA at the elbow like the did in the playoffs, you force the ball to the strong side where now have an immediate 3v2 consisting of J-Dub/McCain/Mitchell.
The gravity of those two makes it so much easier on SGA.

For real, that dude got away with more dirty shenanigans than anyone I've seen in a long time. Maybe since Chris Paul in his early days. If they're going to prop that guy up, the rest of the league needs to go hard on him, all the time. If you're going to foul him, foul the shite out of him.

They were two starters, out for the series. Someone else was hurt in that series - can't remember who, but that hurt us as well.

JWill also tweaked a hammy strain.
JDub came back late season and rehurt his injury.

Wow love this rookie! Called out Doncic on his constant whining.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander now has sole possession of second place for the most career blocks by a point guard in NBA history (426). He only trails John Wall (439).
Most career blocks by any guard is Dwyane Wade (885), who did so in 1054 games. SGA is on pace at 531 games.

SGA subbed himself out late so his scoring streak of 20 ends. All about the team.
Final: Thunder 96, Nuggets 84
Jalen Williams: 21 points and 5 rebounds
Chet Holmgren: 12 points and 17 rebounds
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: 17 points and 3 assists
SGA's historic streak of 20-point performances ends at 141 regular-season games, but OKC gets the win and is now 2-0.

Just an unbelievable streak that will likely never be touched again in NBA history.
20 points in 141 straight games in the NBA, when the best of the best are trying to stop you, is just incredible. Fun watch while it lasted.

Hellofa win. Beat SAS and Nugs by double digits to start season is a great indicator this team could be a great one. SGA subbing out with 2 min left and only at 17 tells you their focus us winning. Mara has been such a great draft pick. JDub finally looks healthy. Chet looks motivated. Ajay is back. Wallace is an upgrade over Dort. And we still haven’t seen much of Stirz who likely sees time going forward and could be another draft steal.
Only 2 games in but both teams were motivated to beat us and both are contenders. Thats a good sign to win on road at SAS and home vs Nuggs. Long season ahead but you have to like what you see. Held Spurs to 104 and Nuggs to 84. Wow

I know it sounds crazy because he's won back to back MVPs but I feel like SGA is still slightly underappreciated. What he's doing is almost unhuman.
• 141 games — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2024–2026)
• 126 games — Wilt Chamberlain (1961–1963)

Yup SGA is so good and like last night he plays team ball. Most stars woulda taken mega shots to keep streak going but he involved his teammates all game first. They doubled him every chance they got.
In a way I’m glad its over because it became a bit of focus for fans and press. Might be better to have that out of the way.

Lol. And I didn’t see defender touch him but have not found good footage of the contact timeframe
So I thought that was a nice way to ease the tension. Honestly, I was happy we got a timeout too because I was dizzy. I’ll probably never do that again.”
