1-1 OU takes on 2-0 NM, who has scored 108 and given up 14.
Will be our easiest game left on schedule.

This is the problem I have. We got a good RB coach and yet do this. If I was the RB coach our strategy meetings would not be pleasant. BV is not focused on offense and its being run into the ground because the one in charge (OC) is lost and wants to make his tagalong QB look good over the team success. We are screwed.

Granted, with our D we don’t need to score high however it would be nice to have a chance to.
Oklahoma has not scored 28 offensive points vs a P4 team in their SEC era.

I pray i am wrong, but this could be as damaging a weekend for OU as we’ve seen the last 5 years.
Texas and Oklahoma State won over top 10 teams.
You’re likely about to play #2/3 (Georgia) and #1 Texas in the next month.
Nothing we saw yesterday gives any confidence we can produce offensively (again).
I’m a positive guy. Always have been. As much as I want to say I have faith in the staff to turn it around, we’ve been saying that the last 2 years.
I’m sooner born and sooner bred so I ain’t going anywhere, but they will have to prove to #Sooners fans that they can put a solid offensive product on the field.

I know I’m going to have a hard time watching next week. We will show some sort of dominant run game and we’ll all go “hey look, Fasusi is back, we can run the damn ball now!!!”
But then..we will play Georgia and our dumbass OC will give the ball to the running backs 8 times.

Drive 1 - Avant 8 yard run on 1st, no RB carries rest of the possession
Drive 2 - Avant 6 yard run on 1st, no Avant carries rest of the possession

New Mexico won 10 games last year I think and scored 70 points last week. This could be interesting.

Of course Assbuckle will run a lot and make us all feel good. Then he’ll go to GA and want to make Mateer look good again and go pass happy. That GA game will define our season.

Trell Harris has a 'very serious' injury

Oklahoma wide receiver Trell Harris’s injury at Michigan on Saturday is much more serious than expected.
That’s according to a source close to the OU football program.
That source told Sooners On SI on Tuesday morning that Harris — a transfer from Virginia — has a laceration to one of his major internal organs and had to spend part of the weekend after the game at an Ann Arbor hospital.
Harris, a senior from La Grange, IL, sustained a vicious hit in the lower back during the Sooners’ 17-10 loss to Michigan. He felt fine and returned to the game, but he started feeling ill immediately after the game ended as the team was getting ready for the return flight home. Harris eventually was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The source indicated that Harris’ parents told the team about the extent of his injury to avoid rumors and inaccurate information from being disseminated prematurely.
Harris likely won’t be able to return to action for several weeks, if at all. In two games so far this season, Harris has six catches for 104 yards and a scored a 48-yard touchdown in the season opener against UTEP.
The 6-foot, 203-pound fifth-year senior began his college career at Kent State. He transferred to Virginia in 2024 and played two seasons with the Cavaliers. That included 12 starts last season, which ended with 59 catches for 847 yards and five touchdowns.
That resulted in All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors for Harris.
Harris was hoping to help All-SEC wideout Isaiah Sategna provide big-play experience to the OU offense in 2026.
But with Harris likely shelved for an extended period of time, players like sophomore Elijah Thomas could find themselves playing a bigger role as downfield threats for quarterback John Mateer.

frick me, why can’t we have a decently clean season. I think we have others but his experience was valuable and is a big loss
