Happy Birthday to Bud Wilkinson.
Born in 1916, Bud was the OU head coach from 1947 to 1963, compiling a record of 145–29–4.
Bud won three national titles, 14 conference titles, but his greatest coaching feat is the 47-game win streak from 1953-1957, which still stands as the longest streak in college football history. We salute you Bud.

I wish I was alive to witness that era. Owen Field was known as "the snake pit" thanks to rowdy fans. If we are being honest, Bud Wilkinson helped to put Oklahoma "on the map", so to speak.
