I’ve deemed myself an Oklahoma fan since my home state program of Arkansas has completely burned to the ground never to return again.

Always really liked Venables and wanted him as our coach back in 2018 when we fired Beliema.

Looking forward to watching yalls season!

Thanks. Surprised SEC hasn’t scheduled OU/Arky yet. Amazing how far Arky has fallen. At some point they’ll need to dump a ton of money in program.

I’m glad they haven’t honestly….it would be a major thumping.

Did I read that yall play Michigan next week?

Welcome! I think our Heisman winner QB Sam Bradford married an Arky gal, she was on your golf team. Heck, Coach Switzer is an Arky grad.

Agreed. Lots of parallels between the two programs. That’s why I’ve decided to become a Sooner…I hate Texas and I already have the red and white combo down lol.

Also I grew up in west Arkansas in the Ouachita mountains which we share with Oklahoma. If I ever move it would be to Oklahoma for sure

All of my wife's side of the family are from or in Arkansas. It's just a beautiful state and it is nuts that Arkansas & OU don't have much history.

Funny thing I think of, when an Aggie reminds me: they love to boast about the last game they played OU when Johnny Manziel took over the 2nd half of a meaningless bowl game vs. an OU team decimated by injury. I mean, that might as well have been for the national championship, they hold that win in such high regard like it was some massive watershed moment for their program.

On the other hand, you have Arkansas who as a massive underdog went and crushed an OU team in the Orange Bowl. OU was poised to win the championship had they won that game. A great win for the Razorbacks, but I rarely ever hear about it from Arkansas fans and when I do, it's not about "dunking on the Gooners" it's about how Holtz had that team coached the hell up for that game.

Anyway.. welcome

Truthfully, probably one of the best wins in the history of the program. Not sure why it isn’t held in higher regard than it is; probably bc it was so long ago.

On another note, how happy is Sooner nation to see Okie Lite lose to Tulsa this past week
