They know there is pretty much nothing they can do about it in Congress. They just keep spouting off about it to keep getting votes. Until it comes in front of the Supreme Court again, it's pretty much a non-issue.

But that's not going to happen for a long time, if ever. So until then, you are picking your senators and representatives on an issue they really have nothing to do with.
It's asinine and one of the reasons we have fricking Roy Moore anywhere near an elected office.
