You were judging the entire country. I think it's a somber day of remembrance for most. If you see someone turning it into a rah-rah 4th-of-July celebration and that bothers you, change the channel. And that's not representative of our country at large.

That was my main concern.

I've started hundreds of threads. They can't all be worth a shite.

I only judge the posts, not the poster.

I guess I don't like or understand "somber remembrance." I don't keep up with anniversaries of people dying and stuff either though. My wife's gm died like 8 years ago this week and she was sorta sad about it and mentioned it. I guess I sort of get it but I sort of don't. I'm depressive and fat anyways so any negative energy typically snowballs.

I was kidding fwiw...

Once you remember the people affected by this, re-memorialize the dead you're still left with a day that changed the Country completely. Nobody had hit America in the nose in a very long tome before 9/11 and we were still coasting on the Cold War hangover. Technology was rapidly changing as was our new enemy and just like the threats today they wanted to kill Americans regardless. Everyone needs to realize that at least one day a year IMHO. Might help tune in your situational awareness within your daily surroundings.

It's a little different for me because I've had these assholes actually try to kill me directly, but on the other foot I can see where it would get annoying and Holiday-ish

Now it's starting to feel 'murican in here. Love, peace, and tolerance. Even for careless assholes like me

8th grade science class. It was 8:25 and the tv turns on in the class randomly. The teacher gets all pissed and all I could see was the flaming side of a building. The teacher was kind of a bitch and says how dare they interrupt her class. None of us realized what we were seeing, but then one of our more conservative crazy teachers we heard running down the hall screaming "the towers are on fire! We're under attack!" Our teacher though kept up with her lecture, despite some of us telling her we should find out what was on the tv, but she ignored us. Soon as the bell was about to ring, the principal went over the intercom and told everyone 7th through 12th to come to the gym. That's where I was told the full extent of what was going on, and we had a prayer, and they said if we wanted to we could stay or leave depending if all their teachers said it was ok. Well my teacher who I had my second to last class wasn't having any of that and made basically the entire grade stay for a test, but really we just watched tv all day together.

There's a special place in hell for a group of people who form together and kill Americans just because we have our shite together and I frickin love seeing them dead too. Gets me going..

I had a few family members ask me why those Marines pissed on the dead bodies of 3 Al Qieda members in Afghanistan. Only reason I can come up with is probably because they didn't need to shite at the moment.

I was coming out of a staff meeting when someone told me that two planes had crashed into buildings in New York.

I thought, "How awful. Probably air rage between two Cessnas that went horribly wrong."

I noticed that everyone was jammed in the conference room watching TV. I got in the room just as the North Tower collapsed.

I remember hearing myself say, "Oh my god!"
