Of states I have personally visited, New Jersey was the run-away worst. Granted, in the defense of the Garden State, the only region of that state that I visited was the area between Newark and NYC, literally, the arm pit of America.
Of states I have visited, I rank them thusly:
20. New Jersey
19. Wyoming (spent next to zero time here, and all I saw was desert scrub...and LSU win a CWS)
18. Kentucky (spending most of my time in Western and central Kentucky + being sick the whole time probably ruined this experience for me)
17. Georgia (Atlanta is literally the worst city of its size in America, it drags the whole state down, but so does Florida/Georgia Line and their ilk)
16. Arkansas (Fort Smith is nice, so is Fayetteville and Hot Springs, rest of the state is weird and meh)
15. St. Louis isn't enough to save this state
14. Virginia (sure would be nice if it wasn't for all of those government contractors and employees in the northern half.
13. West Virginia (one of the most beautiful places in the world)
12. Alabama (Bama fans suck, Birmingham is mediocre at best, Montgomery is an armpit, but Huntsville and the Gulf Coast are great places)
11. Mississippi (Jackson's a wasteland, but the gulf is pleasant)
10. Maryland (Haters gonna hate, but Baltimore is great. Western Maryland is scenic as well)
9. Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh is the tits for a northern city)
8. Utah (beautiful state filled with the kindhearted people, non-existent night life, tons of outdoor activities, and mediocre food)
7. New York
6. Texas (Austin brings it up, Dallas drags it down)
5. Oregon
4. California (LA really drags this state down bad)
3. Florida
2. Tennessee (Memphis is a second home for me, and I love Eastern Tennessee)
1. Louisiana

Frick them. Worthless.
You're out of your mind. I take it you've never been to Burlington.

Michigan is actually pretty fantastic if you're into the outdoors. The UP is 90% untouched wilderness.

So you've been to Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia but never been to either Carolina? You're missing out.

Pretty much once you get out of he Detroit/Flint/Pontiac wasteland, Michigan is great. Even just a little way north of Detroit it is really nice. Ann Arbor is a really nice college town, too.

Been to 39. Kansas by far the worst.

He also has Lousiana as his favorite state. I'd say his list lacks credibility.

Hahahahaha, yeah that's all Tennessee has. I'm gonna blame ignorance and lack of experience as the excuse for your post. It's ok

Yea: he says WV is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Ranks it #13. Has nothing bad to say about it.
Says LA really drags CA down bad. Ranks CA #4.
And then there's Louisiana. No explanation but is #1.

I would actually rank that big list above as someone who is ignorant and lacks experience.

Obviously you've never been to Nashville

I haven't been to a single state that I didn't have something good to say about. Every state has it's shitholes, but they all have something spectacular or interesting. I try to learn about a state before I visit. If you go to Alaska expecting to have a great time partying, you're in for disappointment. If you go expecting amazing wilderness, then it's awesome.
Except Nebraska. frick that place.
