Is that a good product and worth the investment?

Well its a Factory jeep head with the valves and springs already set, for less than $700.
I'd say yes

Dawgfan you nailed it. It's blown head gasket and a possible warped head.
Will that Quadtrec product still be usable?
They're going to get running as they felt an engine they found not trustworthy.

Sms yeah either buy a new head or if yours isn't warped to bad a machine shop can mill it back true, but for $700 I'd buy the loaded head

If only warped slighty i would get it shaved as its the cheapest option.
If warped considerably go with the quadratec head.
You machine shop guy will be able to tell you if he can get it in spec.

The news just got better!!
The Water Pump that I replaced has failed again and apparently the U joint is bad.
The one guy who I trust is calling place to get explanation on why a shop can completely botch a water pump instal

Let me know if you need a number for someone to do an engine swap for you. He's west of Lincoln, really reasonable pricing, might be a bit slow though.

I will thanks.
Right now nobody in SS/BC has nothing.

Of course by now you know thats what caused the head gasket issue. Those Straight six heads will warp damn near every time they overheat.

Thats nothing. About a $30 bucks and 30 minutes, and can be done by anyone that can change their own oil.

Engine swap seems extreme for just a water pump and head gasket.
These issues are all easily fixable, even if he has a warped head.

Yes it was. The shop I took to put new Water Pump charged me for new one but put on rebuilt/old one. The Part Shop is warranty the pump as they had record of when bought and what I purchased.
This is what makes me the maddest as I expected a new one put on, the one I bought.

I would wager 90% of parts that most shops put on like water pumps, Starters, etc are remanufactured. That really doesn't mean they are shite tier products though. They still have warranties.
If you have a core charge...Its a reman your getting.

No I bought the part myself from Part Store and they put on a different pump.
The in laws warned me about the place I took originally but my "brothers" said good.

Then I would at the very least call them on it and demand my money back. It probably won't happen because if they are shady enough to swap parts they probably won't stand behind their work. Rough luck sms

He's lucky there's no broken bolts. Some of those inline 6s run water lengthwise down the head which is ridiculous if you ask me.

Those damn mid eighties Chevy inlines with the integrated heads would warp just for the hell of it you didn't even have to get them hot.
