Ohhhh if ppl knew the stuff we talked about and came over here with what we say this place would blow up.
Not even kidding. It's the Silk Roads of Gamecock gossip. And no fanbase is immune.

Not really a huge thing but I got an angry stare down from a union stooge in Oregon when I pumped my own gas. Apparently I'm not qualified to pump my own gas.
That was strange.
Ha! I have only heard about this recently. I was surprised.

Apparently this is still a thing in Oregon and New Jersey.

New Jersey.
yea it's illegal to pump your own gas.
It actually is pretty handy.
especially when it gets cold and you drive through.
Guys are literally just sitting out there working for the gas station and fill it for you.
I haven't had any bad experiences yet, but only experienced it a handful of times.

These guys need to be slut shamed out.

Lived in Grants Pass OR for 3 months... and the whole gas station thing was bizarre. Albeit beautiful, the whole mentality of Oregonians is bizarre.

Most Southerners are much more open and many will have conversations with just about anyone, in the Midwest that would seem rude or annoying. It can be off putting at first but once you get to know people they’re about the same.
Ah, home. Here's your food, why are you still speaking to me

I have yet to be stopped to have a conversation in a gas station. I really like that.

Ive only ever in all my time in the region, only ever been stopped to talk at the gas station by a stranger once, and I don't think he was from the area.
The keep to yourself attitude is nice imo. No one slowing you down when youre trying to get stuff done

From Indiana to Kentucky, aside from the previously mentioned opened attitudes toward conversation among strangers in random areas being strange (had someone i didn't know want to talk to me about grocery bags at the Kroger for example), Ive found people dress a bit fancier in some cases. Khaki shorts, polos etc, rather than a tshirt and jeans. Theres also the moccasins and flip flops. Don't know what the deal is with that. May just be a Lexington thing.
I'd also never heard the term "formal" used as a noun for an upscale party before. Maybe I spent too much time at humbler events elsewhere.
And of course, the people wearing parkas when its 50 somethin out
don't think its all people in the area that do it, but I consider it short sleeve shirt weather and its kinda goofy.
To go with that is the more cautious driving when snow is around. Seems people drive slower than they need to but, I guess Im used to more snow out of the year
Theres variances in the food of course, some better, some not as good. I enjoy collared greens, something I had never had before. Still have yet to have corn that's separate from the cob that tastes right. The fish though can be top notch.

I dont know what that means.
KSG and CG were talking about this super cool club on twitter. She even said it takes nothing to make an account. After about 30 mins of not wanting to, I did. And then I posted my name above, but no one has added me. ;(
