If he goes to Memphis he can play behind 2 good centers in Gasol and Koufos and get himself back in basketball shape.

thats been my logic. comes to memphis, gets to sit behind legit centers, gets himself back into shape

Poor Portland can't catch a break with dominant college Centers

A lot of our resident Pelican's fans on the MSB seem to really want him. I just don't see it with their lack of any decent center and kind of thrusts him into maybe playing 25+ minutes.

But then again maybe he thinks he can handle that, which will probably be the deciding factor on where he goes.

him going to new orleans and playing close to 30 mins would be the end of him...again. he needs to just get a season under his belt without injury before he even thinks about those type of minutes

And the fact that Durant was the other choice that draft

then again we did draft Hasheem Thabeet over James Harden and Steph Curry

I bet the poor bastard that picked Bowie over Jordan still stays up at night kicking himself if he hasn't already drank himself to death

Why? Bowie was the better pick when you have Drexler already and needed a Center

Drexler was at time considered better. It wasn't until Collins moved MJ to the point he blew up. Who was widely considered 2nd best? The Glide.

Watching PSJ as a kid was just crazy.

Because Jordan, Barkley and Stockton were still on the board and Bowie is one of the biggest busts in sports history.

Then you have no clue and I won't even try to explain it.

Ok you're right. I'm sure the guy that picked Bowie still to this day is proud that he did and wouldn't have changed a thing.

I'm just saying he wouldn't look as stupid if 3 hall of famers werent selected right afterwards.

Kinda like Dumars picking Milicic. If Melo, Bosh and Wade don't pan out, he doesn't look near as dumb in hindsight.

It may have been the more senseable pick at the time but there's no way 10 years later he wasn't thinking "DEAR GOD WHAT DID I DO"

Dr Jack Ramsey was the guy that picked Bowie by the way. He has stated multiple times he wouldn't change anything.

He won't even touch 20 minutes per game here. If he comes here he'll play 10-12 minutes per game and no back-to-backs.

Jason Smith and Greg Stiemsma will be getting most of our minutes at center (which Imo isn't a bad thing... both have very good mid-range jumpshots and both can protect the rim).

AD will play center in crunch time. (assuming Anderson isn't traded)

So knowing what Jordan, Barkley and Stockton would become, he STILL would take Bowie?
Come on, that's insane.

Again why take a short fat 4 who was lazy? A supposed Slow 1 that never played in big games and not sure can handle pressure? Or a guy you already have?

When you have a 7'1" C that was a AA on the board?
