this. I guess my biggest worry is that he is so mild-tempered. Bringing in a mild-tempered rookie coach to coach probably one of the most high maintenance players in the league (Rondo) is a recipe for disaster IMO. Yes, he coached Butler to consecutive national championship games. I respect his coaching abilities and I respect the Butler players, but he hasn't coached any big superstars there, so how is he going to handle being around guys that he has to stay on about making the right decisions off the court like Rondo? Another thing, I guess you could say we are going into a rebuilding time for the first time in 8 years. I don't know if I want a rookie coach at the helm of a rebuilding time. My cousin who was following the Celtics when I was shitting my diaper is really happy with the hire, so you never know, it could work out. I'm just think we could have done better.

yep. thats what i got at. he succeeded in college which is awesome. but going from butler to the fricking celtics is a whole other moster to deal with. you generally cant out coach someone in the nba unless your pop, adelman, jackson, rivers, etc. everyone can fricking coach in the nba. its all about getting through to your players and IMO, having an actual nba resume is the easiest way for that to happen

Agreed. Could turn out to be a diamond in the rough type of hire, I'm just being realistic. Hoping I'm wrong though

thats what that POS ainge is going for. you dont give someone 6 years unless you really are going all in with them

It's funny how bad you and WCA wanted him gone a couple weeks ago and now you're hoping he stays. Shows how fast things can change in the NBA

I was never hoping him gone. I was always saying that while he's annoying to deal with, we need to keep him

never heard me say such a thing.. I would like a sign and trade that frees us up even more space next summer
ETA: But I won't be upset if he stays. He's still a good player once he heals up, even if he is a head case

Iguodala reaches an agreement with Golden State. 4 years 48 million.
Also GS is sending Richard Jefferson and Andris Biedrins to Utah. That's two really big salaries they just cleared up though they pretty much replaced Jefferson's 11m/yr with Iguodala's now 12m/yr.
I was kind of hoping if Dwight didn't stay we could sign Iguodala. I like his defense but still 12m seems like a lot for a 12 ppg 2 guard

Golden State drops out of the Dwight Howard chase, clearing the way for long-standing frontrunner Houston to close with the free agent star

I'm recovering, so I had some free time to put it together

Warriors still working to make moves, so my suggestion they're out of play with Dwight Howard is premature. They have tentacles everywhere.

I was about to say. That sounded weird with them shedding cap. That makes more sense
