he opened the door and upon opening the door he was immediately shot in the chest,” Law told WSB.
Neighbors who ran to the home after they heard the shot said they saw a Wii game remote control in Roupe’s hand.
Neighbor Ken Yates said he saw the female officer moments after the fatal shot.
“This is tragic. … She put her head in her hands and she was sobbing. Supposedly, he opened the door with a BB gun and in my opinion I think he was playing a game with his neighborhood buddies,” said Yates.
So, the only neighbor in the interview said it was a gun.
Interdasting.
This will be justified.

If it was a black controller it aids the cops story.
Update from neighbor of victim.

We've downgraded to a BB gun. Should be at Wii controller within 12-24 hours.

So it is your theory that the young ruffian, hellbent on killing a cop, answered the door with a BB gun? We'll hope you're not an analyst of any sort.

You're a fricking idiot. His intent isn't relevant. He opened the door with something resembling a firearm.

His intent isn't relevant? It certainly is. It may not be important to you.
But the police certainly interpreted intent in order to kill him. So it seems it's kind of important. You seem extra stupid.

If you open the door with a gun pointed at a cop you get shot. The end.
It's a spilt second occurrence. See gun. Eliminate threat.

So if I open the door with a blow dryer, open season? How about a banana that kind of looks like a gun?

We don't know that it was a gun, and we don't know that whatever he was holding was pointed at the cop.

And how am I supposed to know they're cops if they don't announce they're cops?
Do you see how this might create a problem?

You would have to be an imbecile to mistake a banana for a gun.

Well that describes most cops.

You don't know they didn't announce. Hell, if he was playing with his friends he could've just opened the door because he heard people.
Watch. List.

He made a threatening gesture with a weapon or weapon like object. Personal history doesn't matter.
Speculation at this point.

Not to mention, you don't unholster a weapon for no reason. Obviously they perceived some threat inside the house or they wouldn't have weapons out.
Or they were being paranoid and overly aggressive.
Like I said, this will be more constructive when we know more facts. My issue with you is your overall attitude. Your disregard for human life, your feverish support of law enforcement, and your assumptions based on demographic.

I am already on most of the alphabet soup watch lists. What's one more?

So, your rational theory is that this kid is sitting at home, hears "police" with a door knock and he runs and gets his BB gun to answer the door?

All of this.

The people that I know who serve in civilian police forces are not imbeciles. Most of them were Military Police, serving at least one tour in a war zone.

Just as you don't know it was a gun or if it was held up in a threatening way.

Well, he was "playing" with a bb gun. Full potato is a safe bet.
