Agree with everything CNB has stated and his pain chart is relatively correct. Coming from someone who has an entire sleeve, chest tat, & currently working on a full back piece.
Ultimately be honest with yourself and if you are not sure you even want one.... then just hold off because you will regret it. It's not the kind of thing you do to impress someone or because someone wants you to have one.
best of luck

Tattos are very common these days. Don't be a trend follower.

If you get a tattoo just because your wife wants you to for YOUR birthday then you might as well get your balls made into a keychain for her. She clearly already owns them anyway.

If you don't want one don't get one.

Have you considered getting her name tattooed on your lower back?

No tramp stamp for this guy! I'm not white trash even though I am from Arkansas.

I tend to agree with this.

I have one, and only one. I had a brother pass away and my step brother and I have the same one commemorating him.
I'd never get another one. I certainly wouldn't get one just because my wife wanted me to. You will regret the shite out of that, hombre. Don't do it.

Like someone else said get a temp and wear it for 6 months. Put it where you can see it. If you like it then, no problem.

Tatts are like fine wines, as they age they become better and better. I advise getting tatts as young as possible, so that by the time you're 60+ your tatts will be the envy of your circle of friends and family.
