Thoughts are with you all this weekend. Hope you and yours effected by this storm come out with as little impact as possible.

Agree.

I'm enjoying the LSU melt, but for those in the path of this storm, may God be with you.

My brother lives in Okeechobee and they were having winds of 50 mph and waves of rain starting a couple of hours ago.

We get the tornado threat here and that is kind of creepy but storms like these are on a while other level. I couldn't imagine.

Thanks Kilo.

All along the coast, it's all rich people who are insured and can evacuate easily, but most people don't think about the people that live 1 mile inland in the trailer parks who are going to get whiped out.

It is looking like Georgia and SC are going to get some damage, but not devastation, based on latest data.

But Florida is about to get annihilated.

I work in the marine industry and there's a ton of boat manufacturers in the coastal areas of FL. Some literally may not be there in a few days. Just crazy.

Boston Whaler, Everglades, Maverick Boats... All are in the crosshairs

As soon as the insurance check clears, they'll re-open in Mexico.

I just watched a thing about hurricanes and what happens once they reach land. I understood the flooding and sustained winds on the coast but never realised that they spawn dozens of tornadoes once reaching land. Yikes.

Again, thoughts and prayers are with all you over the next couple of days.

Prayers are with everyone in the path of this one - it looks vicious. I have a cousin in Orlando that I'm worried about. Everyone stay safe.

It's been super quiet here in Orlando. Which looking at the radar kinda blows my mind since I'm in the middle of it. I'm sure the silence won't last.

Thanks, Kilo. Traffic, gas lines, sold out hotels all the way to Augusta, GA, absolute mayhem at grocery stores, out of staters already setting up far inland where most evacuees are at so they can peddle their generators and water for absolutely ludicrous amounts of $..these are all the price we pay for living in a coastal state. I wouldn't have it any other way, though.

FWIW, the ppl taking advantage of hurricane evacuees are being swiftly arrested for price gouging and treated to our finest Southern hospitality, jail-cell-style.

Thanks for the well wishes. Almost time to batten down the hatches...should be here by tomorrow night. We have slight wind gusts now of 25-30mph but it's not consistent at all...and no rain at all yet. That'll all be here later tomorrow. Worries me how he's just as close as the eye can be to making landfall w/o actually doing it bc it keeps the eye right over the gulf stream and that is extremely warm water from FL all the way up the SC coast...perfect fuel to allow for possible strengthening.
