Boomers will actually email and text each other memes like this. I’ve been on the receiving end many times. It’s a sick cycle. If you don’t respond they will ask you IRL if you saw it and why you didn’t respond. If you reply then they’ll keep sending them.

My family doesn’t do email but they do do Facebook and they completely ran me off of it. If I had any interaction at all with anyone there’d be comments and likes often totally unrelated to what was going on...and almost always it was with someone they didn’t know. Not my close family but my extended family, all boomers who I rarely see. Annoying AF.

I remember everyone in my high school several years ago flipping out over this and saying "facebook is dead" and abandoning their accounts
I didn't have one so it wasn't a problem.

I had to have one for work for awhile, used to manage some pages and whatnot. That’s even more of a shitshow. Facebook is cancer. Boomer family members are bad, foreigners are worse. Good on you for not making one, you’re not missing anything.
