Rate the Allman Betts Band

they're less than 3 years old I guess
Devon Allman (son of Gregg)
Duane Betts (son of Dicky)
Berry Oakley Jr (son of Senior)
at least one good lead guitar player who I don't know his name
a keyboardist/piano guy - he's good
two drummers, as it should be
here's a New Orleans set LINK
right away, Devon Allman is going to take a beating because he only plays a little bit beyond an acoustic guitar and he's not his dad. His voice is decent however. He needs to calm down and get rid of the 38 Special front man kind of vibe
Betts sounds just like his dad. So I'm betting Rambling Man by them is awesome, and I'm posting this before I've heard them do it

Does Tedesky Trucks welcome them to tour with them?
So their original stuff is pretty good. They have respect for their roots is the best I can call it. ETA: and then they do Purple Rain?? Come on guys...

I'm giving them a straight C and I would show up at a show to chat with them if they came to town

they're smart that they don't just run out and start doing traditional Allman Bros songs
they have their own stuff

This is a fair grade. Duane was the best slide player in the world when he died. Irreplaceable. Warren did a great job tho.

I've only seen Devin's band and wasn't disappointed. No he's not Greg but who is. Music was kind of mix; psychedelic southern rock
