Puzzled by what I saw

My wife is still laughing.
Tuscaloosa....Doing an Home Owner's Insurance inspection. Renters ...
Arrive to notice one person in the detached garage working and cleaning up around the Harley. That person turns and comes out to find out what I am there for.
Seven seconds impression....My first thought ..."This is by far the most flat chested black girl I've ever seen." Nose ring , feminine voice. Finally says "I have to go in and let my PARNTER know you are here." I reply "Yes Maam.
Now I'm wondering ....
"Girl?
Can't use boy, racist....
Man?
He/she/it ?
returns and says no problem do what you need to do.
I get to the back of the house and have to stifle a laugh .... Wave bye and leave ...Now I'm laughing ...
Maybe I could have used the Crocodile Dundee method of checking ....But, I was more worried about "Butch coming out"
