Tbird how serious is the Spurs interest in Pau? I think he'd be amazing in that great ball movement offense as he's one of the best passing big men in the league the last 10+ years.

From what I can gather, it seems like they're testing the waters with him. Biggest priorities this offseason were to re-up with Baker's Man and LandWalrus (oh, and that timothy fellow). Had the Diaw deal fallen through, I think they would have gone into elevated mode after Pau sooner.

Completely concur. At this point I think it will simply be a matter of what's most important to Pau. I believe OKC has more fiscal wiggle room than we do, but anyone who's followed basketball knows that SA is a paradise for players who're keen on moving the ball.
We'll see--I'd love to see it happen, but I tend not to get my hopes up for big-name free agents when it comes to the Spurs.

Stephenson drawing interest from the Lakers
Honestly I would rather have him than Melo.

Guys I really can't handle the MSB free agency and other NBA threads. We really need to get this one going again.

I think Pau will stay in LA if we land Melo (still not sure how I feel about it). If by the grace of god we were to get Lebron, Pau would probably stay and play for pennies on the dollar.

I agree.
I also don't think Melo is the answer for LA, but unless they land LBJ or Love idk where else they should turn.

Did Bosh get a max offer from Miami or just Houston?

If Miami wants to keep the 3 together they can't give a max offer to any of them can they?

Agreed. Part of me hopes the rumors of kobe pitching the dream team version of himself to these guys is really going to work.

That MIGHT work on Melo. Probably not on Bron.
Honestly, I don't think either of those guys really want to go West, though.

I think Melo likes the idea of being a Laker and living in LA but I'd question his sanity if he really liked our coaching and roster situation right now

What are the candidates for the HC spot? Admittedly, I've been doing more reveling over the way the season ended than following offseason shenanigans, but I've not heard word one on that subject.

His wife is big into hollywood from what I've read. She's an aspiring actress or some shite and she's pushing for that move.

They can, but the contracts would be backloaded as frick like the last one. 16M for the first season and go up significantly after that with opt out options just like before.

I have no idea. I've heard Byron Scott or Doug Collins rumors the most. Also Lionel Hollins. Not sure how I feel about any of those.

Doug Collins would be the best get out of those options IMO.
And apparently Pop agreed to some multi-year deal with the Spurs. Looks like he'll last beyond the Duncan era

How did Dirk do this year? I feel like I didn't hear about him at all.
Posted on 7/9/14 at 9:09 pm to UMRealist
He was efficient, but limited. Really, he's progressed much like Duncan but doesn't have quite as talented a group around him. Tiago Splitter did a very good job of slowing him down in the playoffs but Dirk really just picks fewer spots to be aggressive because of the stress on his frame.
That one legged fade away is still ridiculously unblockable though.
