$4550 for 3.5 ton unit. Could I have done better on that price? Other than doing it myself.

Depends on what was included. I bought a new unit about 2 yrs ago, same size and paid a little less than that but it included everything on the inside of the house (except duct but they cleaned all the ducting) and a new slab outside.

This is pretty much the same as you described, but I did ask for an upgrade to a Nest (WiFi) thermostat.

I can live with "a little less". I feel better.

Thanks
