A few days old, but fascinating :
The missing dark matter in certain galaxies can be explained by the effects of tidal disruption: the gravity forces of a neighboring massive galaxy, literally tearing the smaller galaxy apart.

So, as a large galaxy absorbs a smaller one, it strips away its dark matter first and then eats the stars and dust that’s left. This seems like further indirect proof that dark matter actually exists. It’s as susceptible, if not even slightly more so, to the gravitational effect as is baryonic matter. Interesting.

For the human it’s just lunch at KFC. For the chicken it’s a matter of lfe and death.
