I like Tyler
I haven't seen anything good from Sturgis and I think he's overrated

Bad take. You haven’t listened enough.

King Turd would be disappointed.

What albums of his did you listen to? Did you listen to them in full like you’re supposed to?
You’re the first person I know to like one but not the other.

Listen to Metamodern Sounds in Country Music album start to finish. I bet you’ll like it.

The irony of this conversation is that the title is “Millenials have no talent”, yet Tyler Childers is a millennial and Sturgill is Gen X
.

Yeah.
It’s possible the songs you didn’t like came off his two most recent albums. A lot of people were mad at him because it’s not country music. I personally liked them but I can understand how people could be disappointed.
But since you seem like a guy who prefers outlaw/old country, I recommend you stick with his first two albums, Metamodern and High Top Mountain.

Im not so much "outlaw" country, in fact, not at all, except for Waylon's wife Jessie.
I even like Garth and Colin Raye into the 90's - some folks complain "Garth ruined country music" - that's just stupid
But some of this album you suggested was good buddy.
I will say I don't get the weird instrumentals where he's trying to be the country version of Sonic Youth
Jamey Johnson for instance: Jamey nailed it every time. He didn't have to try. He was himself and he nailed it. He's one of the best of all time.
Then there are idiots who compare Eric Church to Jamey Johnson. :punk emoji: Eric Church is a fricking douchebag who needs to be beaten with a frying pan. Seven frying pans. If Eric Church is reading this, I will fight you. Name the time and place bitch!
As a small child, I fell in love with my dad's collections. Those included Marty Robbins and Glen Campbell, for instance, who were certainly cross over artists, but they were awesome.
Dads' favorite was George Jones. That's fine. He later loved Brooks & Dunn and I don't get that.
Sturgill Simpson's remake of The Promise was pretty cool.
I could keep typing
Diddly, you're okay. Whatever your faults, I blame Jukin and Skyler for being bad examples to you.
It's not your fault.

Im not a big "country music" guy by any means. I do enjoy country undertones which is why i tend to lean towards americana.....I basically hate pandering more than anything haha.
If you make country music....awesome. I dont need to hear how "Country" you are in every song though.

I don't even know whether I'm a Millennial or a Gen Z. I was born in 1997. I've seen an equal number of demographic studies place my year of birth in either cohort. For that matter, I don't really associate with either.
What I am tired of is this virtual battle among the living generations of people. Being pigeonholed into a set of stereotypes based on your age is as foolish and ignorant as doing the same to someone because of his or her race.
I don't dislike people who are Baby Boomers; frankly, I have gotten very tired of the "Boomer bashing" from people in their 20s and 30s. People born between 1946 and 1964 may, in general, share different cultural values than me, but that would be an entirely stupid reason to dislike someone in that age group. And vice versa.
This is yet another stupid metric that serves no purpose but to further divide an already fragmented nation.
