But the bitch is still low class trash.

What things? That black students aren't ever punished for violating the Code of Conduct?

No. I wasn't really offended, and I didn't know what was going on in her life so I just let it be. Hell maybe someone said something bad to set her off.

I also felt bad for the other black girl near us who we were talking to that was clearly embarrassed and felt bad even though she didn't know the girl, so I didn't want to make it more of a scene than it already was.

Not that they aren't ever, just that the standards and frequency is different.

I'm not going to get in a big fight over this and have you drop all kinds of rhetorical questions and witty sarcasm. You think differently, that's fine.

She got expelled

Has there been anything official from Alabama that she was expelled? The president's statement did not say this and the only indication that she has was attributed to the student. I don't think Alabama could have expelled her in 24hr, the students have a right to due process for code of conduct violations. It is possible she was suspended pending the process but I don't think she was/is expelled.

Am I the only person who thinks it's stupid she got expelled? I mean good riddance, but I don't think a public school should be able to expel someone for words. If they should be able to expel her, then we should just go ahead and make the n word illegal so there's no gray area.

The University doesn’t have a choice. Barley a month after we won a National title and most newsworthy story since then is this. Would be a bad look for Alabama- especially after we were in the news for not accepting black girls in Panhellenic sororities in 2013.

Well, we’re headed for an intense debate in this country about the first amendment. I’ve always subscribed to the “shouting fire in a theater” test myself. Other than that, hands off, and let the chips, and the consequences, fall where they may. A public institution that gives lip service to the ideals of the constitution may find it impossible to sanction a citizen for saying what she chooses.

That’s not to say that the other students can’t say to her exactly what they want either. Haters gonna hate. Really, it’s better to let them speak.

So we know who they are.
