I was listening to dark matter tonight, siriusxm 104, and they were discussing this bizarre death of a Canadian tourist atop a Los Angeles hotel. Click the link for more details, and a bizarre video of the woman on the elevator right before her death.

Odd story and video. Creepy if true

i'd like to see the autopsy reports that say no drugs were found. None of the news reports say that.

If I remember right, she had bipolar disorder. Had to be a contributing factor

Very creepy and interesting. Mental disorder seems like a possible explanation here, but still curious as to how the hell she got up to that water.

This story is indeed true. It made headline news for a good week or so.
If I were to guess, a maintenance worker or hotel supervisor clearly killed her. Someone had to unlock the locked doors. It was someone who worked at the hotel. Her clothes were burned in the hotel incinerator, which the maintenance workers would also have access to.
Pretty obvious.

Doors to these back of house things are never locked and almost never alarmed(working)
I can walk in to the boiler room or on to the roof of 9 out of 10 large hotels without ever being stopped or encountering a locked door

I remember watching a news report on youtube about it a while ago. The report said that the roof access doors are tied into the security system. Whenever the door is opened, it's logged. The security logs never showed those doors opening.
The fire escape of the place goes all the way to the roof so she could have gone up that, but no one would have been able to carry her up there.
So yeah, I want to see her tox report

The writer makes a deal about the elevator door opening and shutting at the end, but it's obviously just going up and stopping on every floor because she pushed all the buttons

quote:It was odd that the door wouldn't close though. And the way she was acting was a bit off. I understand most of that was her trying to get the door open...but she looked weird as frick doing it.

I read a report about this case when it first happened. Initially, investigators said that she was up there taking photos and accidentally slipped into the water tank. She was an artist I believe....

Yea pretty much this. I remember reading about this story a while back and thought the same.
