Yeah.. I think the trolling has taken such a hold that the chance for folks getting to know each other has been lessened. When the Rant was first made, it was more close knit and the trolling was more good natured and folks could talk about things without it getting political/team oriented. Kinda like more normal life type talk.. and of course the hard/wet legging.

It was. There were trolls, no doubt.. but the majority of regs would pretty much jump on it and it'd be somewhat short in the length. Maybe not nicer per say.. but more fun and sociable. Just eventually grew to the point the "regs" were outnumbered and by the time this board came about.. many had moved on or regular life started consuming more time and less time available for here. Just kinda one of those things.. you can never go back.. I guess.. which sorta sucks. I miss some of the folks and the good times.

Since then, with the influx.. it's just gotten nastier or maybe more trollish.. which is good for hits, but bad for the personal aspect that it once had. It's like the AOL rooms ... its evolved and just cant go back.. eta.. I be startin to get numb.

It wasn't really a defection. Most of the people that posted on it were banned from this site at the time.
I agree with you though. It used to be so much better before the flood of trolls.

gotcha... I did the same.. I lurked to 2007 before I joined. My first post was whacked.. it was something about Perriloux after he left Lsu. (That was pre SEC Rant)

That's another thing that grinds my gears.. street rods and racing went to shite after high school. Used to be kids would build their cars.. then the bolt on nitrous craze and now its pretty much nonexistent.
