In the early days of the faith it was an outlaw religion, writing would be proof of crimes. Much of human history, folks could not even write their own name and had to make "their mark" (which was usually an "x").

Paper was for the wealthy, are you telling me the 12 apostles were wealthy and well educated?

I had a close friend in my youth who was learning Sanskrit just to review the probable first source of all future Bible translations. Way smarter than me and very strong faith, we used to do morning prayers daily at 5 am at a church close to campus. A keen mind was well respected back then, now we applaud the dumb but attractive crowd.

My wonder if Jesus were alive today, would he disrupt the media the way he overturned the money changers in the temple.


FWIW, I have studied most of the texts of the major global faiths and a few minor or ancient that have all but disappeared in the past 200 years. They are more alike than different yet we fight globally about it every day. Makes no sense, but humans are good at this.
