At LSU Med School in Shreveport half the people in one dept watch netflix movies all day long. Seriously.
the dept head "doesn't want to hear about it".

I work with a female who has literally spent every hour of work for the last six months planning vacations. To my knowledge she has not accomplished a single task.

I'm not stereotyping, but the shoe fits like a fricking glove.

Less showmanship and posturing with men? I find it to be the exact opposite.

I was talking about the men but wasn't clear enough. If you take a group of men and throw even a half way attractive woman in to that group the entire dynamics will change. Half of the men will start acting like idiots.

I don't really think this is a female only issue. If I had to list the top 10 worst co-workers I've ever had, men would outnumber women pretty easily.

My experience has been completely different, man. I think it's fun to work around them, but almost all problems I've ever had were from women, especially female bosses who felt they needed to be 'strong' and completely missed the mark.

Even as a teacher, women require that you guide them more directly than men and want more 'step by step' structuring than actually wanting to do the work themselves. I can't just tell them: Go home and do something that you like to learn English.

I have to tell them: Go to ______ and read ______, look for ________ and when you come back we'll go over _________.

I haven't had problems with men whatsoever, but of course, it could be the industries we've worked in giving us our perceptions.
