JOTD
A man playing on a new golf course got confused as to what hole he was on.
He saw a lady playing ahead of him. He walked up to her and asked if she knew what hole he was playing.
She replied, “I’m on the 7th hole, and you’re a hole behind me, so you must be on the 6th hole.”
He thanked her and went back to his golf.
On the back nine, the same thing happened, and he approached the lady again with the same request.
She said, “I’m on the 14th, you are a hole behind me, so you must be on the 13th.”
Once again he thanked her.
He finished his round and went into the club house and saw the lady sitting at the end of the bar.
He went up to her and said, “Let me buy you a drink to show my appreciation for your help.”
He started a conversation and asked her what kind of work she did.
She said she was in sales, and he said he was in sales also. He asked what she sold.
She replied, “If I told you, you would only laugh.”
“No, I wouldn’t,” he said.
She said, “I sell tampons.”
With that he fell on the floor laughing so hard.
She said, “See, I knew you would laugh.”
“That’s not what I’m laughing at,” he replied. “I’m a toilet paper salesman, so I’m STILL one hole behind you!”

Morning All
Up to 10 inches of rain over the last couple of days. Water is running everywhere this morning from heavy rains with more hitting around noon. Very Thankful just wish we could have had some of it over the past few months.

Good morning everyone!
Your odd factoid of the day...
This was actually the second time the embassy had been stormed by students and hostages taken. The first time it happened Khomeini stepped in personally made them release all the hostages and apologized profusely to the US government.
Khomeini wasn't a fan of the United States, unlike Ho Chi Minh who grew up adoring us, but he was desperate to prevent the US from interfering in the ongoing revolution. He wanted the US to be neutral at worst, and a soft ally at best to keep the Soviets on a leash.
Then the Shah asked for medical asylum to the United States. Carter, for humanitarian reasons, allowed the Shah into the country. And... the Iranians lost their sh*t. They were certain that a quid pro quo had been established. American safety in Iran in exchange for the US not taking a side in their revolution and maintaining trade ties.
The entire trajectory of the Middle East was instantly changed. The Iranians had been willing to make an attempt to work with us, despite the fact that the US had massively screwed Iran over in the past... and we had. We really put the weenie to them on multiple occasions. We made them impeccable enemies overnight.
The Gulf Wars, the GWOT, and a lot of instability in the region might very well have not happened had things worked out differently.
