I noticed some maple trees starting to change today and a few others. Getting a hard freeze here Sunday and Monday morning so it will really kick it in. Bad thing is when the trees finally get their color here we get wind and only have a few days to only enjoy the colors before all of the leaves are gone. .

Morning all. Headed home from the smokies this morning. Praying for safe travels.

Wildcat, you’re competing with Armyman on the traveling. Be safe-some of those Smoky Mountain roads are a bit tricky.

Roughneck, I’m channeling my inner Armyman and Wildcat-headed to Nebraska to pick up some critters . Couldn’t figure out a reasonable way to get there that involved the Sooner Center but I’ll find another excuse to get back that way. Hope you get back to feeling better so you can cuss at the Sooners tomorrow.

Got home in about 3.5 hours. Roads were fine till we got 15 miles from home and storms were rolling through.
I'm a bit embarrassed with how much I ate on this trip.

What was your favorite place to eat at on your trip?

My normal answer would be Apple Barn, but last night we ate at a place called Cookie Dough Monster and the burgers were incredible. One of the best I have ever had.

Good morning, fellow travelers.
Sounds like you made good time, wildcat.
We hit York, Nebraska about 11 PM, showered and went to bed. I slept past 6 for the first time since I quit drinking. Embarrassed but rested, although my Dad and his Dad would not have approved.
Roughneck, when we showed up to towards your part of the world we went across southern Missouri for the first leg of the trip and found a BBQ spot called the Huckelbuck about 30 miles east of Springfield. My dainty little boy and I, both fans of a BBQ meal ordered the family sampler special. That was our favorite spot on that trip, food wise.
We enjoyed being in your neck of the woods and hope to get back there soon.
