Ugh, anything having to do with foundations brings back a lot of bad memories. My folks place in Marion, AR was in a really nice neighborhood. And every home there was crumbling apart because they were built on that gumbo clay soil that just ate foundations alive.

The lady responds: “A raise? But why on earth? I see no reason why.”
The housemaid says: “Well, for starters, I cook better than you, ma’am.”
The lady gets annoyed and replies: “Where does that come from?”
“Well, Ma’am, your husband told me he likes the food better when I make it than when you do.”
Seriously annoyed, the lady interjects: “I’m not giving you a raise. That’s just your job.”
The housemaid tries again: “And I’m sorry ma’am, but I’m also better at laundry than you.”
“Nonsense. What makes you think that?”
“Again I’m sorry ma’am, but your husband says, his shirts are better ironed when I’m the one who cleaned them, than when you are.”
Even more annoyed, the lady says: “okay I’ll have a talk with him. But you’re still not getting a raise for doing your job.”
“Well... I’m very sorry ma’am, but maybe you should also consider the fact that I’m better at sex than you.”
The lady responds, red with anger: “EXCUSE ME? My HUSBAND told you that?”
The housemaid answers: “Oh, no. The gardener, ma’am.”

Why condoms come in packs of 3, 6 and 12!
A man walks into the pharmacy with his 8-year old son.
They happen to walk by the condom display, and the boy asks, "What are these, Dad?"
To which the man matter-of-factly replies, "Those are called Condoms son. Men use them to have safe sex."
"Oh I see," replied the boy pensively. "Yes, I've heard of that in health class at school."
He looks over the display and picks up a package of 3 and asks, "Why are there 3 in this package?"
The dad replies, "Those are for high school boys, one For Friday, one for Saturday, and one for Sunday."
"Cool" says the boy. He notices a 6 pack and asks, "Then who are these for?"
"Those are for college men," the dad answers, "two For Friday, two for Saturday, and two for Sunday."
"WOW!" exclaimed the boy, "then who uses THESE?" he asks, picking up a 12 pack. With a sigh and a tear in his eye, the dad replies.
"Those are for married men, son. One for January, one for February, one for March..."

To say the Japanese were woefully unprepared to withstand the Mongols would be an understatement. The first "battle" pitted 8000 Mongols against 80 Japanese defenders. Despite Japanese literary works the fight was over almost instantly. The Mongols preceded to kill every person they could get their hands on including stripping all the women and young girls naked, nailing them by their hands to trees, and leaving them to die as a warning.
But for an extremely fortunate typhoon hitting (the Mongols had no clue of when typhoon season started) the whole of Japan would have fallen. Which is where we get the word Kamikaze from... the Divine Wind. As opposed to what happens when the SEC OT gang eats at a cheap taco stand... the Unholy Wind.

Chester A. Arthur, 21st president of the United States (1881-1885).
The man who didn't want the job. Arthur had been the Collector of Duties at the New York City port... at the time the principle source of income for the US. The system was so corrupt that some modern political figures would have cried with envy. Arthur made a rather large fortune from his dealings.
Selected as VP Arthur had cheerfully intended to enjoy his ill gotten gains in NYC. And then President Garfield was assassinated and Arthur, against his wishes, was suddenly the President. Naturally, given his incredibly corrupt nature, Chester became... one of the great reformist Presidents of all time.
He knew exactly how to tear down the "Spoils System" and did so quite thoroughly. The modern civil service that we have today (Deep State fiends from hell for those of us who love podcasts) is in place largely thanks to Arthur's actions. Quite literally dying slowly in office he served one term before retiring back to his beloved mansion in NYC.
