Rock
Rock back in February I bought 15 cows that would calve by late April 2025 for $30,000
This week I bought 11 replacement heifers that weigh 600 and won't calve until February of 2027 for $26,000.
I'm now wishing I would have bought more bred cows this last February.
Its a crazy market now when you have to replace some older cows.

1805
Napoleon Bonaparte's army draws into the Rhine
Napoleon owned Europe in this time period. He was incredibly gifted when it came to the tactical and operational level of warfare and France had a massive army he could beat people to death with.
Even his strategy was usually pretty solid but he didn't have a solution for the British navy. No one did really. All the UK had to do keep the French bottled up in port and keep finding new ways to stir up trouble on the mainland.
Napoleon can lay the blame for his eventual defeat to one country in particular. The US. What? Well, in the Revolutionary War, the British had made the mistake of not corralling the French fleet. That allowed the French to blockade Cornwallis at Yorktown and set in motion Britain's loss.
They didn't make that mistake in the Napoleonic Wars.

Joke of the Day
A DEA officer stopped at our farm yesterday; he said “I need to inspect your farm for illegal growing drugs.”
I said “Okay, but don’t go in that field over there.”
The DEA officer verbally exploded saying, “Sir, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me!” Reaching into his rear pants pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and shoved it in my face. “See this badge?! This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish…. On any land! No questions asked or answers given! Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?!”
I nodded politely, apologized, and went about my chores. A short time later, I heard loud screams, looked up, and saw the DEA officer running for his life, being chased by my big old mean bull…. With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it seemed likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified.
I threw down my tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of my lungs, “Your badge, show him your badge!”
