Despite its many recent successes India is just eaten alive with corruption. Most former British possessions managed to avoid this issue but it has plagued India ever since the nation came into being.

Nigeria is another example of a country that just can't get rid of government corruption. If they had a solid, non-corrupt, government for just a decade they would probably be a G7 level country.
