She's whining in a crate right now to go potty. Crates work.
I didn't say they did not work. I said it's pointless. My dog whines at the back door when she has to piss. Unless you are worried they will tear shite up in the house. That's a training issue IMO.

My Golden has allergies and the vet told me to give him a Zyrtec everyday and fish oil pills. Neither are cheap.

I'll add that science diet also cuts cellulose by adding aspen chips to their food.
In other words you might as well feed your dog wood.

My dogs were switched to food that has no wheat or corn.
Right now they are eating duck and potato. It has made a night/day difference for allergies.
Crate training was great for potty training. Also, I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but when dogs are puppies you can get an insurance policy for REALLY cheap. Some include yearly vet annual exams. My mom got one for her dog and the dog had cancer in her foot and it saved her a ton of money.
It was well worth it given the low cost of getting it.

Yeah those grain free work wonders. Only problem I had with potato is it caused a brown, yeasty buildup in gumbo's ears. So They switched to a grain free duck without potatoes. I think it was Fromm Gamebird. Now if they could just get his walking farts under control.

Definitly get one that has no biting history, not one that hides behind the couch either. Thats how we got our dog. Her breed is...well...brown. But she's such a good dog
