Any bar with a patio in Midtown in Houston, which is many of them, you will see dogs on the patio on a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I've been in Woodrow's in Midtown with just as many dogs as people on a fall Saturday afternoon

In Montrose where the hippies and gays are the dogs are at all the bars

I've got a friend that lives in Montrose. He's neither gay nor hippie.

Can you really say you were native to Fayetteville if you had never gotten a pair of shoes from Bruce?

I own a pair of Bruce Walker's custom chacos. He was a cool MFer.

And I'm specifically talking about dogs inside bars. I'm pretty sure they are on patios everywhere. Its interesting that Athens won't allow them due to code. I think its annoying. I don't think I've seen them any of the places that serve food.

I live right on the edge of midtown and Montrose. Some of my favorite bars and restaurants are there, so I would consider living there and I'm not gay or a hippie that's the stereotype though

I haven't seen them just posted up inside bars really. I've seen people walk in with them but that's typically just bring them to the back patio. I imagine if places will let you bring them in to go to the back they'll let them stay inside.

I have seen dogs inside bars in Denver and Austin. That shouldn't be surprising though

We seem to have a lot of cross-pollination of our hipsters with Austin and Colorado. We have more than a few hairy legged Austin refugees here.

Not surprising

I'm sure they see Fayetteville like Austin in the 60's in their hipster minds

I've seen this happen in a few small town bars, but everyone knew the dogs and it was a regular thing. They weren't leashed, they just ran around the bar and people fed them scraps and what not. The dogs were very well behaved.

Seen this at a few military work places too with small offices (-10 people). At A&M, a captain brought his german shepherd to work every day and the dog just wandered around through the offices on their floor. Great dog, probably not something I'd allow though.
