i don't live near anybody from HS, but obviously facebook (which i have but don't use) keeps people connected.

i've been out of HS for about 15 years now and i have several friends that i keep up with from it. my best friend i visit when i go up to DFW area every now and then. another friend and i get together every year at a conference we both go to. one dude went on to be the president of a million dollar company and have actually bumped into him at the airport. my debate partner and i would go get coffee whenever she came back to town.

my wife was in a sorority with a good friend's wife that i graduated with and we keep up with them. awesome story there. my folks still live out in the country. my wife was coming in late at night when we were there for Christmas and accidentally missed a turn. decided to go down a dirt road she didn't know was flooded and got stuck. i had to go pick her up. next morning she texts the wife of my friend about it and they swing by and pull it out on their way to church.

we went to my wife's 10 year reunion and it was miserable. you could tell nobody there really liked or kept up with each other except the ones that never left town.

my wife said at mine that she was completely shocked at how much we all seemed to genuinely like each other.
