I lost two clients during the first year. One owned a BBQ restaurant, the second was the manager at a Furniture store. Never met them in person but I'd done business with them over the phone and email for nearly 8 years now. I know lots of people who have gotten it. Been fortunate not to know anyone who has died from it. I hear about friends of family etc but not anyone I know personally.

No kidding. Do you live in a rural area? I know hundreds of people who have gotten covid and more than ten who have died, but I live in a pretty big city.
I just got a call this morning confirming that I've tested positive for COVID again. First positive test was March 2020. Vaccinated in April 2021. IgG tested monthly (was tested Monday and was still ~5x equivalent).
Symptoms first time were pretty severe...this time are much milder. Where I work we are averaging over 50 positive test per day this week.

I didn't know anyone personally until my mom got it, was in CCU for 2 weeks before she went on a ventilator for about 45 days. She came off of it, and is learning to walk and everything now. Still at least a month out from going home.
After they go on the ventilator, one family member is allowed to visit everyday. It was an all COVID wing, most people were like me not knowing if their people were ever going to wake up. Alot of them died, some were sent to vent facilities because they weren't ever going to get off the vent and their family didn't want to let them go and a few made it out. Once you go on the vent they say it's about a 20% survival rate.
My dad got it at the same time she did and had a runny nose. Neither were vaccinated.

Yeah, its an odd one. I've known of people who caught it that were in ill health and did just fine, and I've known of fairly healthy people that caught it and died.
