It's understandable to not trust our media, but you can find quotes from both our country's experts and experts and officials from the other countries dealing with this.

I'm glad you trust the CDC though. They will likely be the ones to recommend restrictions in the coming weeks (or days).

We had control over containing the virus when we had no cases of it. We knew where it would be coming from. It's not like it was going to take flight and fly across the ocean like some intercontinental goose.

Now that it's here, controlling it will be more inconvenient but that's where we're at.

The CDC isn’t powerful enough to stop this. We are in a mitigating phase now and the measures are going to be increased in the coming weeks. Look to Italy to get an idea of it.

So if the CDC can’t stop it are you saying it’s going to wipe out what 25% of the population?

Just out of curiosity how old are you?

Per a leading ID Dr, aka not the media, it has potential to do a lot more damage that you seem to think it’s capable of, but nowhere near 25% of the population. What an insane number that is. Anyways, The more work we do now, the more this can be mitigated.

Of course we need to work on it..But who do you want to work on it? You just said the CDC can’t do anything about it. Then who do you want to work on it?

We need the government to step it up. Figure out a way to test more, but they failed that miserably.

We need more widespread quarantines before it really gets out of hand, not enough yet, but better late than never.

The government needs to step in? Who do you think the CDC is?

Got to run. It obvious you’re pretty young and shook up over this . Piece of advice because I like your baseball post. Follow the recommendations of the CDC, which is a federal agency. Don’t worry about things you can’t control. Trust me you will live longer.

They aren’t stepping in. There are no govt mandated closings/cancellations that I am aware of, and testings are still too limited.

Unfortunately, People aren’t gonna take this seriously until they get hit in the lungs with it.

So 23 people have died in this country all but three in one state and you want the government to shut the country down?

Could this get really bad and we need to cancel everything? Possible. Everything is possible. But right now you and the fella from Mississippi State need to chill. Go to work or school or whatever, wash your hands, shave if you have a beard and try to carry out your day as usual.

The thing is, we can see what is coming by looking at Italy, and it’s not good. Waiting for that to happen before doing anything isn’t smart.

Panic and hysterical talk isn’t good either. Nothing good will happen if you panic. Job or school or whatever you do always stay calm.

I see what is happening in Italy and I saw with all the other virus what was going on around the world that didn’t end up being as bad as everyone thought.

I still haven’t seen any hysteria or panic. Trying to comprehend the reality of the situation isn’t either of those. A sense of urgency is not a bad thing.

No a sense of urgency is not bad. But you’re acting like nothing is being done. The D.C. mayor urged a self quarantine to people that attended a church service. That’s fine. The government is working on this. I just don’t think it’s time to quarantine zip codes with no documented cases or isolated cases.

I get it you want the government to control everything, you don’t like Trump, but do you far worse things have happened in this country than CV 19 and we have been ok. The government is at work but it takes longer than a few days to come up treatment for a virus that was only discovered two and a half months ago.

I am acting like we should have already tested thousands more people, but we haven’t because we can’t. Is that trumps fault? I don’t know.

Ok serious questions and I got to get back to work here so I’ll get back to you this evening.

When do you decide to test?
Who do you test?
Who pays for the test?
What do you do to those who refuse to be tested?
And do you really want that much government intrusion in your life?

Do whatever South Korea has done, but I dont know who is paying for that. I imagine an emergency fund bill could pay for that as its vital to our national security.

You don’t know who will pay? Dang Bernie you have made some valid points until that one.

What do you do to those who want test?

The fact that you have been reduced to bernie bro flames proves how flimsy your argument is. Might as well quit posting if thats the best you can do.

This is an issue of national security, so obviously the government could use emergency/disaster/self defense funds to fight this properly. This is exactly the type of situation that calls for such efforts. Same idea as a hurricane.
