And still going down that road at times. I love AU with all my heart, but I do love some UA girls too.

I'd be lying if I said an Auburn boy didn't make me swoon from time to time. My best friend went to Auburn, so I'm used to minding my manners and being sweet.

So without reading the previous two pages, based on your post I'm guessing that the discussion into the ideas presented in BNW never materialized.

I gave my opinion on both books and added another one. Believe it or not, us barners can read.

My first real GF is rushing this coming fall. She's only a year younger, but two grades behind me. Should be interesting to see where she ends up. Pretty and from decent money, so she'll end up somewhere middle tier.

We started talking about how all of the dystopian works of literature have real life manifestations and have played or continue to play themselves out in various microcosms of human depravity.

I like when you talk like that.

Well, there are always a few brave souls that balk at the collective mindset and band together to fight gallantly for the will of humanity. And they probably enjoy things like delicious food and good beer to boot.

I've "known" a lot of sorority girls from both schools, and I'm still not sure how you fit in. Far too much self realization and awareness to be typical.

Which are the best sororities at Auburn now? Are the Phi Mus still good? Or the KD's?

Phi Mus are the most attractive IMO. KD's are very overrated. I've met plenty that I wouldn't even plow drunk and it's been on the table. I'm not sure what the reason is, but a lot of the hottest girls have been coming out of the middle/lower tier the past couple of years.

Yeah, I definitely had moments of crisis. But the good thing about college is that you can always find different groups of friends to hang out with and move between crowds. I had lots of different friends. I mean, even on here, you can wade through the muck and find interesting people who don't fit the stereotypes.

My best friend was a Phi Mu at Auburn. She is a blast, and really down to earth, but still really pretty. I love her friends too. A lot of the girls from Mountain Brook pledge KD because it's KD and that's just what's expected... and I think that makes it overrated.

Understood. My fraternity is known for drinking a lot and just being a little wild in general. The amount of intelligence in house is regularly surprising though. I'm one of those that still hangs out with old friends too. Not one to ditch out on folks that I know are good friends.

I don't have enough patience to go through the whole Greek thing at AU right now. KDs are generally stuck up for absolutely no reason in my experience. Phi Mus are fun and about as attractive as they come. Best sorority IMO. Alpha Chi has its redeeming qualities, but attractiveness is lacking (my sisters were alpha chi before the whole classy/church movement got going). AZD are AZD. No other way to put it. Same way for Gamma Phi. Sigma Kappa is solid. Always had a good time tiwh them.

Yeah... I'm the same about my friends. Good friends are hard to find, and I am devoted to my close friends. I always liked the fraternities that were a little wild but had smart boys.

We have an odd reputation for getting completely fricked up, but still treating the dates well. Even when we're teeing off from the balcony at other houses.

It gets REALLY old. In the grand scheme of things, it just really isn't that important. Freshman year, it was nice to meet people and have parties and a sense of community. By junior year, we were all over it. Thankfully, my sorority had a lot of pretty girls that were fun and laid back, so the rigid people couldn't boss us. If they tried, I would have quit.

This was not the direction I expected this thread to go.
