Johnny used to come over to house on Sundays. He sang in falsetto and was the Rosetta Stone of the European music that came to the USA at its birth and was locked in the hills of Appalachia till World War I and World War unchanged for centuries. Bluegrass, Mountain Gospel, and even mainstream songs all had these ancient roots.
