Can't imagine pulling this behemoth in. I knew that goldfish will grow bigger in the wild but this is ridiculous. LINK
Got any wild fish stories?

The size of your goldfish's environment, along with other factors, will affect growth. It's a myth, however, that goldfish grow only as large as their environment. Most goldfish will die or have stunted growth if they do not have enough space in which to grow to their maximum size.

That reminds me of this. I laughed at this for weeks the first time I saw it several years ago.

Boston is an awesome city to visit, but I think I’d have to be put in an asylum if I had to listen to that accent every day.

Koi can grow to be huge. Its why they are a dreaded invasive species.
As for wild fish stories... This is a no shite one I promise.
My brother and I once went fishing with my grandfather, who was an avid bass fishermen and fairly high ranking member Episcopal minister in his day.
It was one of those fishing trips most of us had when we were small kids. Do this. Don't do that. Fish here. Don't fish there.
The day was just starting to warm up and we were floating under a tree close to the water while he explained that sometimes fish liked to lay up in these spots... when water moccasin dropped out of the tree into our boat.
My grandfather didn't skip a beat. "You want to look for a collection of logs under the water and... jump out of the boat. Now."
My brother and I jumped. He stayed in there and killed the snake with a hunting knife. Then he gave us a long lecture, once we were back in the boat, about how we should never do what he just did and we should always give in those situations.
The only other wild fishing story I have I wasn't there for, since it took place years before I was born.
My father was fishing on a closed bridge over a deep water channel. I think it was Mobile Bay but I can't be sure.
Anywho he hooks, and he was using that really stout sea fishing gear, a really solid fish. So he looks down and its at least a twenty pounder Red Drum.
He's reeling it in, and its fighting, and he's reeling it in, and it's fighting, and he finally brings it to the surface...
And, as he said, an 8 foot long Hammerhead Shark came up, just as nice as you please, and nipped off everything below the head of the fish.
