Semo, what do you do for work? And are you a mother?

ETA: You don't have to disclose what you do for work.

In seriousness, thank you for your service.

You seem like a very level headed and humble person.

Is that a Mark Twain quote in your profile? I have copy-pasted it to google and got some things that turned up, but not pinning it down.

No, I'm not a mother, but I am a fabulous aunt! And I freelance/consult in marketing/PR/special events. Sadly, freelancing isn't earning me enough $$, so I'm looking for the right job.

You're killin' me, I could have sworn you were a mother. (You seem like you'd make a great one).

Well... that kind of ruins my point.

I was going to thank you for being a mother, sacrificing things in your life to raise kids. And I was going to thank you for grinding out whatever mundane job you do to raise a family. I think too many regular citizens get absolutely shite on (think of Modern Family dad). Our culture patronizes some people blindly and ignores others.

Thank you very much! I love kids, and I've volunteered with them a lot. But I've not been blessed with my own.

And I understand your point - moms don't enough credit, and neither do dads. Raising kids is a huge responsibility that too many people ignore. But, there are plenty of people willing to blame the parents when kids screw up.

He gets my vote again today for his constant bashing of Mizzou posters. I'm beginning to think he's an Arky fan in Mizzou clothing.

Considering other posters have left the board because of the way MU posters are acting.. my bad for agreeing with other fanbases that we've been pathetic lately.

Who's left because of the way Mizzou posters are acting? Mizzou fans or others?

I'm just trying to stay out of the fray.

Socal and Kilo.

And you never know about other people who may lurk or sign up and then decide no thanks after watching some of these people.

I hear what you're saying. I just don't like to see the bashing of other Mizzou fans on the rant. If you don't have a problem with it, that's fine, we're both entitled to our own opinion. In my very humble opinion, Kilo handled it well, posting it in here what his displeasure is, whether I agree with him or not.
