We need to see enthusiasm and see this program build some momentum.

With Yost stepping down and the search being on for a new OC I want to see this program take some steps to build some positive momentum after a pretty dismal season. The opportunity has presented itself for the program to make a positive and energy building hire that could resonate around the new SEC footprint.
* Hire someone outside the program that has some SEC roots and has a knowledge of the recruiting grounds we need to to make inroads into to be successful. Nothing against Andy Hill but he isn't going to generate a buzz in the SEC footprint as a hire. There are some viable candidates that can fit this bill. The time is now to go for it. That means the AD steps up and is willing to foot the bill. Talent comes at a premium at times and now is not the time to be frugal.
* We have to take advantage of some buzz of a good OC hire and then IMMEDIATELY turn the dial up on recruiting efforts. This has to be priority number one. We have not had SEC level recruiting classes the last 3 years honestly. That has to change. The mind set has to change. 3 star projects are not going to anchor a division contending team in the SEC. I think it can be done but there needs to be a heartfelt and fundamental change in demeanor, attitude and planning. We scheme around lack of talent currently, we need to plug in those holes and then scheme around strengths instead of trying to hide talent deficiencies.
Im excited today. I am also a little nervous. Most of you know Im a bit conservative but I cant help but feel this hire could see us go one of two ways. The "same old" with an intra staff hire or start to the realization that there is change for the better coming for Mizzou football.
Lets hope that our AD and this coaching staff seize this golden opportunity to salvage this wreck of a season and turn the momentum around.

Sorry but Pinkel is toast. It is going to be a continuous downward trend until Pinkel is gone.

I think this is probably the case, however, at this point he's our only option.
We had all the momentum in the world coming into this season, the Vandy game took it down about 5 notches, but there was still a chance to get some back with a win against Syracuse and getting bowl eligible. Unfortunately, that game absolutely killed it.
Gonna be hard to get it back, but a great OC hire would do wonders.
