what happened? Weren't we pretty good a few years ago? How come we're one of the worst teams in the country

We have never been as good as we should be under TJ. The years that we were "good" recently, we still underperformed.

We had made the Regionals like 7 years in a row but only 1 Super Regional. We may have barely cracked the top 20 a couple times in that span. So while we were decent, I wouldn't say we were real good. I would suspect that those kind of seasons would find Mizzou finishing middle of the pack in the SEC if that.
I don't know if recruiting dropped or it's the coaching once they are there. The team is hitting like .190 this year. Getting only 6 games in compared to 15 other teams have played makes it hard for them to hit their way out of it too.
Don't think there's any easy answer to the question.
